Fashion has been in a constant state of change since people started to manufacture clothing in various colors and styles. There have been some fashion styles that have transcended their time and have become quite popular decades after they had first made their appearance. There is one fashion style that has been very specific and easy to tell apart from the rest and that is the 70’s look. Fashion of the 70’s had a classy and yet casual feel to it and really was quite stand out. In this article we are going to talk about this particular style and the different looks that people adopted based on their particular lifestyle.

Inspiration for looks in the 70’s came mainly from the Edwardian 30’s and 40’s looks. The laid back and relaxed look that the hippies adopted typically used all natural materials but the disco lovers rejected this and were more in favour of synthetic materials such as polyester. In this era, platform shoes would be a common thing to see and men would usually wear suits that had an odd sense of elegance to them. The corporate style was more experimental with colors and there were a wide variety of choices that would seem a little too vibrant for the modern corporate wardrobe.

The leisure suit made of synthetic materials was also very common. This made them very light and they could stretch to the shape of the body of the person wearing them. You also had the glam look and the punk look in the 70’s, which stood against the preppy style of the era. The rebellions look was probably the one that had the least amount of impact in the entire decade but it did have a good following and some would say it helped inspire the 80’s look more than any others.

In conclusion, the 70’s men’s fashion style was one to draw attention and that has to be the reason why it has resurfaced to become so popular in so many countries around the world. There is no denying that it will always continue to have a good following and you can expect new hybrids of the style to come out and maybe even shape up a new style for coming generations. The world of fashion can be very unpredictable but the 70’s look seems to continue to inspire many.
