Slim Fit Black Suit

What a day! My roommate from back when, is getting…..MARRIED!!! He recently popped the question to his long-time girlfriend of 7 years. I know what you’re thinking – 7 years? He should have been married by now!

So today we spent some “roomy” (is that a word?) time together, grabbed some lunch and generally just kicked back at his place after. He’s the kind of guy that is always prepared and has already bought his wedding suit which he has so willingly allowed me to review here at Modern Man’s World!

Right, let’s get into this. This slim fit black suit that he plans to wear isn’t one of those big name brands. He really isn’t really into brands and the like (which is a little different from myself). That however doesn’t mean the suit isn’t quality. He tried it on while I was at his place and I must say it looked C.L.A.S.S.Y! The suit has a very modern look to it and is made of 100% worsted wool. Among the many advantages of wool suits is the fact that they don’t crease as much as suits of other materials – something that is “all-important” on a day like one’s wedding. They are also very durable and last a long time. The wool is of super fine quality (a 150S) and the texture feels very pleasant to the touch.

The jacket has two buttons, dual side vents and notch lapel. The front of the jacket is full canvas which gives it great form and stability. In my opinion, this is a must for any slim fit suit. Now, I’m looking beyond the wedding and the cut of the suit really allows for my room mate to wear it on business later on too. Black is quite a versatile color and generally exudes a sense of sophistication and authority. It is also worth noting that the suit in real life looks as vibrant as the picture of it online.

The pants that come as part of this suit have a 6 inch drop. They fit him perfectly although if you are on the shorter side, you might need to get the pants hemmed. It would also be a good idea to pay close attention to sizing information before buying it online. Even thought not visible to most, I did notice that a few stitches on the pants were a bit “off”. It’s probably just me being picky but I’m used to clothing to be perfect. A couple seems on the left pant leg were unraveling. We had that sown up and that was that…all sorted again!

To sum this review up, I really believe the suit was a great buy for the price he paid. It is stylish and apart from the small stitching issue with the pants, the quality is very good. I can’t wait for the wedding, it will be a blast. Congrats “T”, I wish you all the happiness in the world. If you are considering a slim fit black suit and aren’t into spending a months salary on one, then I would recommend you check this one out. You can find it here.
