So my best friend’s birthday is coming up this month and I’ve been on the hunt for a stellar present for him. I came across this Tommy Hilfiger blazer an spent some time reading up about it. The more time I spent, the more I felt the blazer was going to be my choice. I whipped out my credit card and ended up getting him a 46 regular. We have a little agreement between the two of us that we wouldn’t go spending hundreds for each other’s birthdays so the fact that I got a sizable chunk off the normal price, gave me even more reason to smile ;-).

The blazer arrived today – made it in good time I’d say as his birthday is just around the corner. Being the suit fanatic that I am, I was quite excited to open the package to make sure all was copacetic. Now this is a Tommy Hilfiger blazer so I was expecting nothing but quality. As I took it out of the box, I wasn’t disappointed at all. I made another quick check and the blazer matched the picture online. Nice! The feel of the fabric is amazing – truly 100% worsted wool with a very soft construction. The blazer has signature Ithaca interior lining which feels very premium. I wasn’t too happy to find out that the inside was not fully lined though and only covered half the blazer (I know I’m nitpicking but hey that’s me). I usually count lining as a form of durability as well as a means to provide structure to suits/jackets. In this case however, the blazer maintains an appropriate level of stiffness when worn which is great. Although the blazer is trim fit, it also accommodates quite a wide range of motion which is essential in blazers that you wear during your everyday routine. Tip: A great combination could be to wear this navy blazer with a  light blue long-sleeved shirt. Dapper!

Inside, the blazer has French faced side panels and interior pockets that are very roomy, unlike some other blazers that have very shallow pockets within. Also to note are the beautiful gold buttons that are used. They are signature Tommy Hilfiger and are sewed on quite firmly.

I’m more than happy with the purchase, now all that’s left is to see what my friend thinks of it! I’m sure he will like it though, it’s a premium blazer and he does like suits that are fitted, so the trim fit with this Tommy Hilfiger blazer will be right up his alley. I will try get a picture of him in the blazer when he tries it on and post it here on Modern Man’s World. No promises though, the fellow can be a little camera shy!

So to wrap this article up, I consider the Tommy Hilfiger blazer a great buy – both the quality and price-wise. If you want to check it out, here‘s a link to the blazer on Amazon.
